History

In 2007 Professor Jim Warren and Professor John Roddick formed Health Informatics and Knowledge Management (HIKM) as a conference within the Australasian Computer Science Week. HIKM was envisaged as a forum for health related research with a computational intelligence and information management focus. Since then, HIKM has become a pivotal conference for digital health in Australasia and beyond that has enabled thousands of researchers to present their work and interact.

Since 1978, the Computing Research and Education Association of Australasia (CORE) has run the annual week of Australasian Computer Science Conferences, known as “ACSW”. CORE is an association of university departments of computer science in Australia and New Zealand; prior to 2004 it was known as the Computer Science Association (CSA).
